Story
The signet is the oldest form the ring takes. Before it was jewelry it was a seal: you pressed it into wax and that mark stood in for your name. Owning one meant your word could travel without you.
The thistle earned its place as Scotland's emblem the hard way. The story goes that a barefoot raiding party crossed a field of them in the dark and gave themselves away. A flower nobody plants, growing where it likes, armed.
Wear it for the people you would defend.
Symbolism
- Thistle: protection
- Leaves: resilience
- Square face: the seal of who you are

Care
Care
- Take it off before washing your hands, showering, swimming or exercising.
- Keep it away from perfume, lotion, cleaning products and chlorine.
- Wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Do not use silver dips or abrasive polish, which take the finish off.
- Store it on its own, in a dry pouch.
- The finish changes with wear. On engraved pieces, wipe the raised areas and leave the darkened recesses alone.
- Plated and tone-finished pieces: the finish is on the surface, so friction wears it. Take the ring off for hand work and the gym.
- Copper pieces can leave a temporary green mark on the skin. It washes off and is normal for the metal.
Our Materials
Our Materials
We are straight about what these are. The collection is copper, brass, zinc alloy and stainless steel, with silver-tone, gold-tone and two-tone surface finishes. Nothing here is sterling silver or solid gold, and we do not price it as though it were.
What you are paying for is the design and the meaning behind it. A ring you will actually wear, at a price that does not make you careful with it.
